🔑 Steps to Set Up 2-Step Verification in Gmail

  1. Log in to your Gmail account

    • Go to Gmail and sign in with your Google account.

  2. Go to Google Account Settings

    • Click on your profile picture (top right).

    • Select “Manage your Google Account.”

  3. Open Security Settings

    • On the left sidebar, click “Security.”

  4. Set Up 2-Step Verification

    • Scroll down to the “How you sign in to Google” section.

    • Click “2-Step Verification.”

    • Press “Get Started.”

  5. Sign in again

    • Google will ask you to re-enter your password.

  6. Choose your verification method

    • Google Prompt (recommended): A prompt sent to your phone when you sign in.

    • Text message or phone call: A code sent to your mobile.

    • Authenticator App (Google Authenticator): Generates time-based codes.

    • Security key (USB/NFC): A physical device for added security.

  7. Verify your method

    • Enter the code or approve the prompt to confirm.

  8. Turn On 2-Step Verification

    • Once verified, click “Turn On.”
