Log in to UniFi Dashboard
Open a browser and go to your UniFi Controller (Cloud Key, UniFi Dream Machine, or UniFi Network Application).
Sign in with your UniFi account credentials.
Go to the WiFi Settings
From the left menu, click Settings.
Select WiFi.
Add New WiFi Network (SSID)
Click Add New WiFi (or Create New WiFi depending on your UniFi version).
Enter the following:
Name → This will be your SSID (e.g., “Office-WiFi”).
Password → Choose a secure WPA2/WPA3 password.
Network → Select the network (VLAN) it will be associated with. If none exists, you can use the default LAN or create a new network under Networks.
Configure Advanced Options (Optional)
Security Protocols: WPA2/WPA3 recommended.
VLAN Assignment: If you’re segmenting traffic, assign a VLAN ID.
Guest Network: Enable if you want to isolate guests from your main LAN.
Broadcast Options: You can hide the SSID or limit it to certain APs only.
Save & Apply
Click Save.
The configuration will push to all your UniFi APs.
Verify
Check if your devices can see and connect to the new SSID.
In the UniFi dashboard under Clients, you should see connected devices after joining.
⚡ Pro Tip: If you’re setting up multiple SSIDs (e.g., Staff, Guest, IoT), make sure to properly configure VLANs and firewall rules for network isolation.
